This month’s gin is a fresh tasting Welsh one. I bought a bottle of Brecon Botanicals to try for our house warming party and I was really impressed by it. We’ve got a little left over so no doubt I’ll be enjoying another Welsh G&T for St. David’s Day tomorrow!
This gin has won several awards and was actually recommended to us by a shop assistant in Tesco. It is a juniper-based gin with hints of citrus and oriental spices. I think it has a very fresh savoury taste, perhaps that has something to do with the way it is made; blended with water directly from the Brecon Beacons!
This gin works well with a citrus based tonic but I also tried it with a BottleGreen’s Elderflower Pressé from Tesco. I enjoyed it with a couple of slices of fresh lemon, a couple of sprigs of thyme and plenty of ice.
Cost: £17 – £25
